The Jardin des Douars is surrounded by protected forests of argan trees whose fruit has given gold to Essaouira. Argan oil has subtle properties and is scientifically recognised for its effects on skin and beauty.
Women's cooperatives in Essaouira pick the fruit from the argan trees surrounding the house, tear off the peel to heat the hammam, then remove the argan pulp and knead it for your face scrub. Finally, they press the fruit and extract argan oil, which is then filtered to form the basis of all our treatments and traditional massages.
